5.1 Introduction
Effective motorcycle parking is Near and Clear, Secure and Safe to Use

In tandem with the increased growth in Motorcycling (now 5% of motor vehicles in use) motorcycle theft has also grown to approximately 37,000 machines per year.
Although local demand can be difficult to assess (as it is for bicycle parking) it is relatively straight forward to satisfy
National Policy and enabling regulations for such parking are firmly in place

Manual for Streets has highlighted the need to include motorcycle parking in new developments.
