Road Design & Traffic Engineering
4.2 Context

4.2.1 Road designers and traffic engineers need to take into consideration the specific needs of motorcyclists. Some features, benign to other road users, can present a hazard to motorcycles.

When considering engineering measures on existing roads it is recommended that any accident data analysis is supplemented by comments from a suitably qualified and experienced rider in order to gain an understanding of real-life causation factors.
